Rapper Rich Homie Quan died last Thursday at the age of 33 in his Atlanta home. While an autopsy has been performed, no cause of death has been revealed at the time.

Born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, Rich Homie Quan was a staple of the 2010s rap scene in Atlanta. Known for his hits "Type of Way", "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)", and "Lifestyle" with fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug, he has garnered great success throughout his career, not only as a solo artist, but as a member of rap group Rich Gang.

Death

On Sept. 5, 2024, Lamar's girlfriend Amber Williams was returning home after dropping off their son at school only to find Lamar unresponsive on the couch. She reported to a 911 dispatcher that she didn't feel a heartbeat, couldn't feel him breathing, and when she turned him over, he foamed at the mouth. Lamar was officially pronounced dead at an Atlanta hospital later that day and an autopsy was performed the day after.

The day before his untimely death, Lamar was on an interview with a YouTube channel named Alanah Story. There, he was confirmed to be working on new music that was set to be released some time before his birthday, October 4th. It's currently unknown whether this new music will end up being released or not as it's up to his management.

Support from Other Celebrities

After the news of his death was announced, many others in the music industry went to X to express mourning. Some include rappers Gucci Mane, Sexxy Red and Lil' Kim, and R&B singer Jacquees.
