On the morning of March 14 at Columbus, students gathered in Brother Eugene Plaza to celebrate Pi Day with food, games, and a competition. The event featured free pie and pizza provided by teachers like Mr. Frazer and Mr. Moro, with the highlight being the pie-eating contest.
Pi Day, as observed on March 14, recognizes the mathematical constant π (pi), which represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. The events of the day blended lighthearted fun with a celebration of math appreciation.
A key moment of the morning was the pie-eating contest, where competitors raced to finish their slices the fastest. Students also participated in games set up around the plaza, such as basketball and foosball, with opportunities available to play at all stations.

Math teacher Mr. Moro described the occasion: “Pi Day is a very irrational day, but it's a fun day. It's infinite, and its awesomeness is the building block of every circumference… on Earth.”

The event provided a break from the busy week and gave students a chance to enjoy delicious food and friendly competition. With math at the heart of the celebration, Pi Day once again proved to be a resounding success.
